Vendor Highlight: The Grothouse Lumber Company - Archipelago Hawaii

This month we’re shining the spotlight on The Grothouse Lumber Company, which specializes in countertops and other lumber products. Operating since 1994, Grothouse has evolved to become one of the largest and most popular wood manufacturers in the country.

With over 60 different types of wood species, Grothouse prides itself on offering the highest quality wood surfaces and edges for homeowners. The company is known for its unique Durata permanent finish, boasting one of the most durable protective surfaces offered today. We’re also big fans of their approach to customer service—Grothouse employees are committed to ensuring that each customer’s needs are met, placing a special emphasis on timeliness and efficiency.

We’ve worked with Grothouse on a variety of projects, and recently on Kaimuki Bungalow. This classic Hawaiian cottage showcases a distinct craftsman design, something we wanted to maintain throughout the home. We installed Grothouse natural wood countertops in the kitchen to mimic the classic painted craftsman’s style. These countertops are American Beech, and are also FDA approved for indirect exposure.
